WEEK 6
Hello everyone! Welcome back to Kalyani and Friends Week 6😆. In this week’s blog, we will be doing a Product Life Cycle on our product.
Our product is Paper Based Fuel📄.
Our focus for activity 1 will be showing you how paper based fuel is made, and used from paper waste.
Having a Product Life Cycle is a stop to take when coming up with a sustainable design.
Some principles of a Sustainable Design includes:
- Use nontoxic, sustainably produced or recycled materials.
- Use energy efficient processes
- Make product last longer
- Design for reuse and recycling
- Consider Product Life Cycle
- Shift from personal ownership to shared ownership
- Buy from nearby
Product Life Cycle has 6 stages🌳, they are:
- Raw materials
- Manufacturing
- Packaging
- Distribution
- Use
- Disposal
Our Product Life Cycle👀 Mind Map:
1. Nutrients become nutrients again🌳
The biofuels emit carbon dioxide into the air. Hence this carbon dioxide is used up by the plants which will convert it to oxygen. This oxygen is used by humans to breathe. These plants will become biomass which will proceed to the biorefinery to be converted into biofuels. Hence this cycle is being repeated over and over again.
2.Use of renewable energies♻
Paper is a sustainable source of energy. It is biodegradable and can be recycled back to its original source, making it a renewable energy source. Paper also accounts for creating renewable biomass energy consumed by all manufacturing sectors.
